Situation
The client needs a service that connects regulatory professionals all over the world. With the help of this website, the regulatory professionals should be able to develop their own personal network comprising of regulatory professionals from other parts of the world. Besides developing, it should also keep updating the profile of the regulatory professionals in the network
Users can join the Regulatory World only by invitation by an existing regulatory world user.
However if a user is interested in the activities of the Regulatory World, he can obtain an invitation by requesting the administrator by submitting his first name, last name and e-mail. To complete the process, he then has to click on the ‘Join Now’ link of the Welcome page. Then Administrator will send him an invitation to his e-mail address.
In the invitation,
- If the invited person has not joined after 5 days a reminder will be sent.
- If the person has not joined after 2 weeks an “about to expire notification” will be sent.
- If the invited person still does not join, the address is still stored in the database as “inactive”.
- If the invited person joins at a later stage, maybe due to the invitation of a different user, the invited person will be asked if he wants to accept the invitation(s) he had received earlier.
On clicking the invitation link, the user will reach the welcome page
In the ‘My Contacts’ page, a user is able to view the name and company of his contacts. The name includes the first name, last name and email address. The details of the top five most active contacts will also be displayed on the page (only based on the user preference whether to be visible or not in the ranking). The user has the option to post non-commercial announcements for new users. Free presentation posting is also possible.
In my profile page there is only one section named "profile".
In this section, the user is able to view/edit the following information
- Name
- Last Name
- Title at company
- Country
- Area of Interest/Expertise
- “See my profile as others see it”
- Experience
- Education
- Summery
- Specialities
- Additional information
- Upload your CV
- Upload your picture
The advanced search feature has the three options
- Company
- Country
- Keyword
The jobs and recruiting section displays the currently available regulatory job postings at the Regulatory World.
The posted job expires automatically after two months.
Jobs are displayed with details like title, company, location, and date and posted by.
Job seekers can find job offers by clicking on the link ‘Browse available regulatory jobs’.
An employer can post a job by clicking on the link ‘Post a job for FREE’
Click on the ‘See Preview’ button to get a preview of the added page.
The employer can edit the details that have been added by clicking the ‘Modify’ button or the ‘Publish’ button to send the posted job details to the admin.
Advertisers can take advantage of the FREE Advertising Banner promotion.
To post advertising banners like those appearing in the column on the right side of the site, click on the ‘FREE Advertising Banner Promotion‘ link.
Click on the ‘Remove Banner’ button to remove it and upload another one.
Upload the new banner and click ‘Proceed’. Your advertising will now be posted and visible to all users as soon it has been validated by the website administrator.

An employer can inform about an available the vacancy to the whole regulatory world or limit his search to a specific segment of regulatory professionals on the basis of his main interest/ expertise and/or geographical area or country.
On the first page, the employer can limit the candidate search to a specific geographical area and/or area of interest. The price for posting the vacancy is calculated by multiplying the targeting co-efficient by the total number of results searched. An email will send to the user and admin on posting a vacancy. The admin adds the targeting co-efficient for a search.
On the next page, the employer has to enter the vacancy details like
- Company/Agency Name
- Customer reference (optional)
- Job title: (max 100 characters)
- Location
- Country
- Job type: (permanent / contract)
- Job description: (Max 2000 characters)
- Candidate profile (optional): (Max 2000 characters)
- Salary
- Contact Person for this position / Agency
- Telephone
- Address
- Postcode
- Upload logo / picture
On completing this process, the employer will get a preview of his listing. He has to pay the money after receiving the invoice. The user also will get a confirmation e-mail about this posting.
For advertising a vacancy, the fee to be paid is calculated in the following way:
Fee (in GBP) = Number of targeted person (n) * targeting coefficient (C)
Where C = (Number of people in the network (N) / Number of targeted person)*0.6
For example, if 500 people have been targeted out of a network of 1000 people, then
ÞC= (1000/500)^0.6 = 1.52
ÞFee = 500 * 1.52= 760 GBP (apply a x 1.5 factor to change to Euro and *2 factor to change to Dollars)
Þ760 GBP = 1140€ = 1520$
In the Services section, the user will be provided two options to inform colleagues about the service he provides.
Users can inform about their services to the whole regulatory world or limit the search to a specific segment of regulatory professionals on the basis of their main areas of interest / expertise and/or geographical area.

The Diretto service allow users to make the most of their personal network connections by sending a tailored message to all the professional contacts of the Regulatory World. This system is designed to avoid repeats; i.e. if your contact also happens to be a contact of two of your other personal contacts, he will be e-mailed only once.
On the next page, users have to enter the message details like:

Premium accounts allow users to contact regulatory people outside their network.
There are 3 types of premium accounts
- Scouter Account- allows you to contact 4 regulatory professionals directly per month - Fee 20 GBP /month
- Explorer Account- allows you to contact 12 regulatory professionals directly per month – Fee 40 GBP / month
- Head Hunter Account - allows you to contact 40 regulatory professionals directly per month - Fee 100 GBP / month
In the billing page, the user has to select the account type. Then the price for that account type will be displayed automatically. There are two types of payment options as follows:
- Invoicing: With invoicing, a user will be invoiced and billed on an annual basis. The user account will be activated after receiving the first payment.
- Credit Card: With a credit card, the user will be billed on a monthly basis. Here, the user account will be activated immediately.

In the about us page, the user can view the number of regulatory professionals who have joined the network. The user can view this information through two series of graphs. In the first graph, regulatory world members are depicted on the Y-axis and the time factor on the X-axis. In the second graph, the number of connections is depicted on the Y-axis and the time factor on the X-axis.
There is also a histogram of the number of regulatory professionals by geographical area (Top 10 countries + “others”). Histograms of the number of regulatory professionals by areas of interest are also available.
The administrator should be able to navigate the contacts network without losing the level of detail. This means that if on ‘My Contacts’ page, the admin wants to view the contacts of a contact John, and then the admin would be able to see them with the same screen that John sees his.

- The ability to terminate or to “freeze” an account
- The ability to retrieve a user’s password (in case they have changed email or forgotten their password)
- Validation of users emails to the network / uploads
- Ability to validate users email shots / announcements / presentations uploads
The fees of some premium services will be charged through an invoice. When a premium service is requested and accepted by the administrator, an electronic invoice will be automatically generated (possibly as a PDF).
The admin manages the users, the users network, jobs, invoices, requests, settings, database back up etc. On logging in, the admin is redirected to the Home page where all the links can be accessed from the menu on the left side.

There is provision to add a continent by clicking the ‘Add Continent’ button.

There is provision to add a new country by clicking the ‘Add Country’ button.
The new country added under the selected continent gets saved on clicking the ‘Save’ button.

There is provision to add a new Area of Interest by clicking on ‘Add Area of Interest’ button.
After entering the new Area of Interest click on the ‘Save’ button to save the data.

There are options to delete the users or change status and account type of each user. Click on the ‘Save’ link to save the changes made.
There is a search option to search by keyword. The users in network will be displayed here.
Clicking the ‘Job Title’ link will display the details of the job in a pop up window. There is an option to delete a job or change the status of the job. Click on the ‘Save’ button to save the changes made.
All invoices will be displayed here.
Clicking on the ‘Invoice Number’ will direct to the detailed page of invoice.
There are options to send the invoice, get a preview of the invoice file and to delete the invoice.
Check the required fields in order to set the Administrative Messaging Tools.
