‘Google Voice’ aims at providing a simple way to manage phone calls, voicemails and text messages. This is an innovative development of ‘GrandCentral’, which Google had bought two years back.

This application acts like a front- end for all your phones. It assigns a Google phone number that can be used your primary number. Later you can direct your calls according to your need. It also helps in getting transcript of the voicemails.

‘Google Voice’ also has a search option to find out a desired SMS from your send and received list.  Users can also make low-priced international calls through Google Voice, and can access ‘Goog-411 directory assistance’ if needed.

Check out http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html for more details about the features provided.

The existing users of ‘GrandCentral’ will soon receive instructions on how to start using the features of ‘Google Voice’.
